June 28, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Join botanical expert Jordan Meyer-Morey for an immersive wildflower hike through our local trails!

Location: From East Glacier Park
Distance: 5 miles
Difficulty: Moderate, ~750′ of elevation gain

Drawing on her decade-plus experience conducting botanical surveys across the Western United States, Jordan Meyer-Morey will guide participants through an engaging exploration of our region’s diverse plant life. Jordan developed her passion for botany while working as a research assistant in Yellowstone National Park after completing her studies at Montana State University. Her extensive fieldwork with federal agencies, university researchers, and private companies has honed her expertise in plant identification and ecology. Jordan’s experience managing archival specimens at the University of Montana Herbarium has given her a deep appreciation for botanical history and classification.

During this walk, Jordan will share her enthusiasm for often-overlooked plant species and explain their crucial roles in our ecosystem. She’ll highlight fascinating aspects of non-native plants, annual forbs, and community succession—topics she’s particularly passionate about. Her engaging approach makes botany accessible and exciting for nature enthusiasts of all levels!
