The Glacier-Two Medicine Alliance (GTMA) has many partnering organizations in Montana and across the country. 

Below is a list of some of its local, state-wide and national partnership organizations:

  • Blackfeet Community College
  • Blackfeet Headwaters Alliance: Dedicated to the preservation of the excellent quality of the pristine headwaters of the continental rivers originating in Blackfeet country, in particular on what is left of the Indigenous lands of the Blackfeet Nation - the Missouri drainage and the Hudson's Bay drainage. The current practice of "fracking" has raised ongoing questions as to the continued pristine future of these waters. This group will use all means available in the interests of protecting this ancient water resource.

  • Crown of the Continent Conservation Initiative (CCCI):  The Crown of the Continent Conservation Initiative addresses the changing climate in the Crown by working at the landscape scale, reducing non-climate threats, increasing the resilience of existing and new protected areas, and ensuring that those landscapes remain connected for wildlife movement.  CCCI’s work ensure that when our nations finally start to reverse the trend of greenhouse gas emissions, there are natural landscapes left to fuel the recovery of our continental ecosystems.  The Crown of the Continent Conservation Initiative is governed by a Steering Committee of conservation groups, land trusts and academic institutions.
  • Coalition to Protect the Rocky Mountain Front: The Coalition to Protect the Rocky Mountain Front is an organization of ranchers, hunters, anglers, outfitters, guides, local business owners, Blackfoot Tribal members, public officials, and conservationists working to protect traditional uses of Montana's Rocky Mountain Front.

  • Earthjustice: As the nation’s original and largest nonprofit environmental law organization, Earthjustice leverages their expertise and commitment to fight for justice and advance the promise of a healthy world for all.
  • Headwaters Montana: Headwaters Montana works to protect the water, wildlife and outdoor heritage of the crown of the continent.
  • Jack Gladstone:  Jack Gladstone is a Native "PoetSinger" and lecturer from the Blackfeet Indian Nation of Montana. Regarded as a cultural bridge builder, he delivers programs nationally on American Indian mythology and history. Jack is an active member of the Glacier-Two Medicine Alliance.
  • Montana Wilderness Association: The Montana Wilderness Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization helping to protect Montana's wilderness heritage, quiet beauty and outdoor traditions, now and for future generations.  The MWA field office in Choteau, MT, is closely connected with preservation work along the Rocky Mountain Front and in the Badger-Two Medicine Area.
  • National Parks Conservation Association: The National Parks Conservation Association is a large, national environmental organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing America's National Parks for present and future generations.
  • National Wildlife Federation [www.nwf.org]:  This organization inspires Americans to protect wildlife for our children’s future.
  • Obtainable, Sustainable Solutions:  Sustainable Obtainable Solutions was created to increase the understanding of sustainability and the interrelationships of people and nature, especially on public lands. The organization wants to ensure current use of public lands does not deny future generations the same benefits we enjoy now.
  • Rising Wolf Ranch:  Rising Wolf Ranch is a guest ranch that offers accommodations for large groups, and is in close proximity to Glacier National Park in Montana.  The Ranch supports recreation, education and conservation efforts in and around the Rocky Mountain Front.
  • The Nature Conservancy:  The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends.
  • The Wilderness Society:  Our mission is to protect wilderness and inspire Americans to care for our wild places.
  • Tony Bynum:  Tony Bynum is a professional photographer, conservation advocate, and all-around good guy.  He lives and works next to the Badger-Two Medicine.  He recently undertook a personal project to create an interactive map of oil exploration on the Blackfeet reservation.  Tony is an active member of the Glacier-Two Medicine Alliance.
  • Wildlife Conservation Society: The Wildlife Conservation Society has a clear mission to save wildlife and wild places across the globe.
  • Yellowstone to Yukon Initiative:  The Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative (Y2Y) is a joint Canada-US not-for-profit organization that seeks to preserve and maintain the wildlife, native plants, wilderness and natural processes of the mountainous region from Yellowstone National Park to the Yukon Territory.
