Did you know that Montana ranks second in the country for wildlife-vehicle collisions per capita? Wildlife crossing structures, like underpasses and overpasses, are proven to reduce collisions 80 - 95%, while improving wildlife movement and migration. This panel discussion will explore the benefits of wildlife crossing structures to wildlife and people, along with the growing, collaborative effort to build more of these structures in Montana – including on US-2 at Bad Rock Canyon – and the challenges Montana Department of Transportation faces in doing so, particularly funding. Breanna Ball with the WYLdflife Fund will share one innovative way Wyoming has found to close the funding gap. Please join us for an insightful discussion of this critical conservation and public safety issue.
